This one is for Woody.....

This blog is for my blogging buddy....Woody. He doesn't like caviar......uh, I can't blame him. Lee Laurie was thrifting the other day and ran across this cook book......The Little BEAN Book by Margie F. Tyler from Mississippi. She signed the book to "Dot" on November 25th, 1989. I love to cook and we love to eat.....

I was thumbing through and a recipe caught my eye....Mississippi Caviar and I thought of you, Woody. I felt like maybe you and your sweetheart Tammy would maybe like to try it. The recipe seems easy enough.

I think when we try to make it, I will do a few things different....maybe add a can of Rotel(drained), maybe some shredded cheese, maybe whole kernel corn(drained).......I like taking most recipes and putting my own signature on it. I will let you know how it turns out.

THis sounds good Stevie, by all means forward him or me the recipe. I love SOUTHERN cooking. I don't think there is any better. Matter of fact, you should do a recipe a week post. That would be pretty cool. :)

Ok Stevie.. I will try this. Maybe leave out the garlic and put in some kind of pasta. This does look good. It would be fun if you could blog a recipe a week and then we could try it. These days beans are a bargain. A southern gentleman was in our krogers a couple of weeks ago and was talking about the bean aisle. He said he was cooking his meat to go with the beans. He relocated here and was working at ISU and he loves it here. "Work is plentiful here", he said. The cost of living is comparable to down there. I told him you are going to have to shop down there for food because the beans aisle didn't have much variety. I can't believe there wasn't a lima bean in that store. He had to adujust his recipe and settle for northern beans. lol I had fun with that guy and his attitude was distant from attitudes we get here. He must run into the right people because he said people were friendly here. Anyway, thanks for the award and I will get it posted ASAP. Take care Steve...
